The highlight about Empire State Building is that it offers the best view of New York City. Being lodged in one of the fascinating hotels near the Empire State Building is added feathers to the Grand landmark…So get yourself an elegant room that offers a scenic view of the Empire State Building.

I haven't heard of anybody who visited New York and did not go to see, Empire State Building. It seems impossible because this massive landmark can be seen virtually from any part of New York City. But seeing Empire State Building from outside and inside is whole together different experience. Built in 1931 as an office complex, Empire State Building is said to drag America out of depression period.

There has be strong reasons why 117 million people till date have taken a trip into Empire State Building. That much of tourists is no mean feat. Empire State Building has its class and dynamics and when you will try watching the 102nd floor from the ground you might get a neck cramp or turn upside down with anguish that you still did not see it. The Empire State Building stand almost ½ km above the ground into the atmosphere of New York City and has no doubt been encrypted into the landmarks of all time with its awesome persona. That is why Empire State Building has been captured in the reel in almost 100 Hollywood flicks.

The Empire State Building features two observatories on 86th and the top i.e. 102nd floor.
From these decks you can view a multimedia presentation of New York called ""The New York Skyride,"" with a three-minute video introduction from Comedy Central followed by a seven-minute motion simulator ride taking you on a helicopter trip through New York.
There are three restaurants, shopping center, banks, post office inside the building and you can always have a nice time in there, I'm sure.

Stats/Facts of Empire State Building
Shreve, Lamb & Harmon Associates were the architects of the building. Mining for the building started Jan 22nd, 1930 and the construction rose at a rate of 4 ½ stories per week. When it was completed there were 102 floors skyrocketing into the sky and it needed 1,860 steps to climb at the top. But 73 elevators, including six freight elevators, operating at speeds from 600 to 1,400 feet per minute assured that a person starting in the morning from down do not reach up in the afternoon, half dead.

It took one year and 45 days including (Sundays and holidays) completing the building, which was much ahead of schedule time and really surprising. The total cost at that time came to $40,948,900, which included the cost of land. This cost was very low because America was undergoing the depression period and labor and material almost cost half of its actual price.
Empire State is built in an area of about two acres (79,288 sq ft) at a height of 1,454 feet means 443.2 m or almost 1\2 km.

Light Towers
Those who come to Empire State Building should be ready for interesting and interactive events planned throughout the year. A central point for displays, rallies and promotions, Empire State Building has revelation stored for you with so much going on.

Special Lightning Request
The Empire State Building have started organizing an annual lighting schedule, which on the National Holidays, seasons, the myriad ethnic groups living in the New York City area and many worthy causes. The authority receives a huge amount of requests and but all of them cannot be met. The strategy of the authority at Empire State does not allow lighting for commercial. People have to make the requests in writing and give as much detail as possible.

During spring and fall bird migration seasons and particularly on cloudy, humid and/or foggy nights, when large numbers of birds are seen flying near the building, the tower lights are turned off. Observatory personnel on the 86th floor outdoor deck notify the engineers. Lightning attracts the birds and there is a danger they will fly into the building and be killed.
